Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, better known as Lewis Carroll, was no doubt fond of anagrams. Here are four that I devised using the letters in his name. It helps if you know that Dodgson stuttered, seemed most at ease in the company of little girls, and took artistic photographs of these little girls without their clothes on:

"U" ghosted grand old Lewis C.

L.C. was odd; he got girls nude.

"Don't grow, Alise!" gushed C.L.D.

"Duh-d-don't g-grow, Al-lic-s-s-e-e!"

Okay, they're not great literature or anything, and that "s" in "Alise" is cheating, of course...but hey, devising an anagram that has anything to do with its subject is extremely difficult!
