Broadway and 46th Street is the middle of Times Square, and also the birthplace of Mr. Browser. Brian Maffitt and I created this character for AT&T to promote their Worldnet Internet service, and he was featured in a series of animated commercials that ran on a huge screen on an AT&T sign in Times Square.

 

I was proud to see Mr. Browser achieve the highest honor that can be bestowed upon an animated creation: being incarnated as a walkaround costume character (see below). No, that's not me inside.

 

Although they played on a screen measuring approximately 12 by 24 feet, the native resolution of these videos is only 192x96 pixels.
